The Sutton Dwarf Broad Bean Seeds

The Dwarf Sutton is the broad bean of choice for gardener’s with small allotments, patios, or exposed sites. Because they’re so compact, they can aren’t as heavily affect by winds and generally don’t need any added support or staking. But don’t let its smaller size fool you – it still yields an abundant crop of 6-inch pods full of yummy beans. When young, the pods can be eaten whole, or when left a bit longer, will produce 4-7 tender beans per pod.

In the kitchen broad beans are great steamed or boiled. They’re also a fantastic addition to your garden vegetable soup, either as a puree or whole. And don’t forget to add them to casseroles, completing the taste sensation with garden onions and tomatoes. Broad beans are also great for storing, either dried or frozen. Dried beans can also be used for next year’s crops.
