Paris Market Atlas Carrot Seeds

[50–65 days] A charming and quick-maturing French heirloom, Paris Market Atlas carrots are ideal for gardeners working with heavy or shallow soils. Unlike traditional long-rooted carrots, these grow into small, round, orange globes—typically about the size of a golf ball. Despite their size, they pack a crisp texture and sweet, concentrated flavour that makes them perfect for eating raw, roasting whole, or popping straight from the garden.

Paris Market Atlas is a great choice for containers, raised beds, and tight urban spaces. It’s also an excellent early season carrot, producing roots quickly and reliably, even in challenging conditions. Their uniform shape and smooth skin make them especially popular with children and beginner growers, and they store well too.

This variety was developed for markets and kitchen gardens alike, where flavour and fast turnaround are key. If you're after a unique and space-saving carrot, Paris Market Atlas is one to try.

Height: 15cm (6"). Spread: 8–10cm (3–4").

Common Questions

Can I grow Paris Market Atlas carrots in pots? Yes! Their short, round shape makes them an ideal candidate for container growing. Choose a pot at least 20cm deep and keep the compost moist but not soggy.

Why are my Paris Market carrots forked or split? Forking can happen if the soil is too rich or stony. These carrots prefer a fine, sandy soil free from fresh manure. Overwatering or inconsistent watering can also lead to splitting.

When should I harvest Paris Market Atlas carrots? Harvest when they reach about the size of a ping pong ball, which is typically 50 to 65 days after sowing. They don’t mind a little frost and can stay in the ground a bit longer if needed.
