Potato 'Swift' is among the fastest maturing of the first early varieties, being the quickest to produce heavy crops of round, smooth, white-fleshed baby new potatoes, and producing larger tubers than Potato 'Rocket'. Its short bushy habit makes it ideal for containers or potato bags where space is limited. Potato 'Swift also has partial double eelworm resistance. Height and spread: 60cm (24").

Optional: Keep some seed potatoes back in a dark location and allow them to sprout. Plant in tubs late July or Early August and you can enjoy fresh baby potatoes on Christmas day!

Providing you can keep some of your own harvest back you can continue to plant and crop swift potatoes all year round. During the colder months it's best to move them inside a greenhouse to avoid frost damage however using potato tubs you can grow this crop all year round!

What is killing my Swift Potato plants? If your soil is overly warm then a fungal called Fusarium wilt can infect your plants tissue. The fungal spores live and breed in your soil. If you find your Swift potatoes are infected then you need to remove, destroy your potatoes and treat your soil right away. Combating this early can stop any problems in the future.

How long do Swift Potatoes take to grow? Swift potatoes offer one of the fast crops of the season and can be ready to harvest in just over 8 weeks. These potatoes are really easy to grow and will offer the fastest harvest time of new potatoes.

Why are my Swift Potatoes suffering from blight? Blight is a fungal disease that can kill your whole potato crop in 10 days. Your potatoes will begin to grow spoes of Phytophthora infestans which can be spread via soil and wind.
