[95 days] This F1 variety of Crown Prince is an extremely beautiful squash, with steel-blue skin and a delightfully contrasting orange flesh. The fruits grow to about 4kg (8.5lb), and the flesh has a wonderfully sweet, nutty flavor that is good in just about any recipe that calls for squash. It also holds up well when roasted. It also holds up surprisingly in storage if kept in a cool, dry place.
Start indoors in April-May unless you live in the south UK.
An RHS Garden Merit award winner.
Height: 35cm (14"). Spread: 200cm (79").
